I'm using adobe acrobat 9 pro, version 9.5.5 on a mac for a while it worked to use the acrobat touchup object tool to edit the photo in photoshop, make the changes, copy the whole thing, close without saving, and then use the touchup object tool to get the photo in photoshop again, paste over, flatten, and then save but that never works.
