How To Record Android Screen

How To Record Android Screen

      How To Record Android Screen

If you visited Android OS’s official website, Android.com when Android 4.4 KitKat was released, then you must have seen many features of KitKat boasting in the website. One of the top features listed on the website was screen recording. The screenshot came in Android when Ice Cream Sandwich was released and now screen recording. Capturing a screenshot of a phone is very easy. Juspress volume downpower button and you are done, but how can you record screen of your Android phone? To record the screen of your Android, you will need to use Terminal Emulator or ADB or any application which does the same function, but this is completely waste of time! Who will write 1 same line every time to record video? For this there are various applications on Google Play Store and many of them are FAKE which doesn’t work or either doesn’t work on most of the phones. I have used many applications before, but now I am stick to one i.e., SCR Screen Recorder. The only problem which I am facing with this application is low FPS. Even if I select upto 60 FPS option in this application, it doesn’t work. Looks like the application only record videos on 10 FPS! Well just kidding, this problem is for me only I guess because no one else commented or reported such bug in Play Store. I will be mentioning two ways to record videos on your Android phone. One using a 3rd party application and second using Terminal Emulator or ADB. Both works perfect, but if you want to spend less time doing all this, I recommend you using first tutorial and if you want more preferences then use the second one! The second tutorial is made for developers or forexperienced people who have used ADB/Fastboot before. If you haven’t and are newbies, then please see the first tutorial. Let’s no more waste our times discussing the ways and all and move to the tutorials.

How To Record Android Screen Using SCR Screen Recorder

This is the application which I personally use to shoot videos and if you are using Android ICS to KitKat device, then it needs root permissions. Lollipop users don’t need to be rooted to use this application. Get this application for KitKat /Lollipop respectively.
  • Install and open SCR Screen Recorder.
  • You will see a popup kind of thing.
  • Tap on SCR icon in that popup and the recording will start!
  • To cancel recording, simply swipe down the notification bar and tap ones on the notification generated by this application.

How To Record Android Screen Using Terminal Emulator / ADB [KitKat, Lollipop or above]
  • Open the folder containing ADB and it’s files.
  • Tap on Shift Key and press right click. Now choose open command prompt here.
  • Type this command and hit enter:
    screenrecord /sdcard/movie.mp4 –bit-rate A000000 –size W x H
[Eeplace A with bit rate. If you replace it with 7, then it will record 7 MBPs videos. ReplaceW with your width of the screen and with the height respectively.]
  • To cancel the recording, pressCONTROL+C in the command prompt window.
